Luke Donald Can Go Down Among the Greats

It does not matter even if Luke Donald never earned a Major to his name. Compared to the massive records that he has piled up throughout his career is enough to compensate for the lack of just one of the magnanimous events. His achievements just include everything a golfer would want to achieve. This weekend, he can make it at The Masters at Augusta, but even if he does not win a green jacket, that would not stop him to stand in a line with the legends of golf.

Such is the opinion of Reg Rundle, the 80-year-old veteran golf player who can still play off 11. He had an experience of playing alongside Luke Donald at Beaconsfield Golf Club. Luke has already bagged the junior championships twice. Reg said: “When you watch him play you think, god, I wish I could play golf like that guy. “He’s one of the greats. He’s got a great Ryder Cup record, he’s been world number one and only five people have been there longer than he has…”

Reg feels that the time when Luke made his debut was not right because that was the Tiger Woods- era. In 2008 he suffered from a broken wrist and had to stay out of the game. Now everything was back to normal and he is one gem of a golfer. Reg said he would be very happy if Luke won the Major.

Despite the age difference, Reg Rundle and Luke Donald are very best of friends.  The connection is so much so that Rundle even travelled to places to cheer Donald. He particularly is amazed at his charisma while playing golf. And also the firm determination to deliver a good game has driven Donald to this success.
