2014 Masters Tournament: Tigers Woods Withdraws

Tiger Woods (World’s No. 1 professional golfer) has always made sure that he participates in the Masters Tournament every year ever since the year 1995. But this year seems unlucky for him because he was forced to withdraw his name from the 2014 Masters tournament.

In the last few months of the year 2013, Woods was suffering from some back trouble. On the 31st of March, 2014 he underwent a back surgery in Utah in order to provide relieve to a strained nerve. Due to the surgery he will not be a part of the Masters tournament this year. But he is hell bent on returning to action in the summer months and is insisting that his golfing career is not over yet.

Woods confirmed his absence from the Masters tournament on Twitter. Reportedly, Woods said that he was trying to get prepared for the 2014 Masters, but he was unable to progress. Therefore after consulting his doctors he decided to undergo the surgery. He is extremely disappointed that he will not be a part of the tournament because Masters has always had a special place in his heart.

Along with the Masters Tournament, several future tournaments will have to be missed by Woods so that he gets the opportunity to recover conveniently. Tiger Woods even thanked his fans as they have shown constant concern and support to him.

Tiger Woods back problem became a concern during the 2013 Barclays Championship. In the year 2014, Woods withdrew from not only the Honda Classic but also the Arnold Palmer Invitational because of the continuous back pain.
