SEASON STARTS AT RIVIERA

The current world number one golfer Luke Donald will make his PGA Tour and United States debut when he plays in the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club, next week. The thirty-four old golfer has enjoyed 5 weeks off after a magnificent 2011 season, in which he reached the top of the world rankings after winning the BMW PGA Championship.
Aaron Baddeley, the defending champion will try to be the 7th golfer in the event history to win consecutive titles. The last person to do that is Phil Mickelson who is also in the field this year. Mickelson won in the year 2008 – 2009.
Fred Couples, the fan favorite will also take part in the event and trying to win for the 3rd time. He won it back in 1992 and in 1994.
Keegan Bradley, the PGA Tour rookie of the year 2011, is also taking part and will make his 2nd careen beginning at Riviera Country Club.
Keegan jumped on to the scene in the year 2011 with 2 victories. At first, it was at the HP Byron Nelson Championship and the second at the PGA Championship in a dramatic manner. He turned to be the very first golfer to snatch a victory in his first career start in a major event. He is the first rookie since Todd Hamilton to won two times on tour which includes a major.
Jerry West, the Executive Director told that on the eve of the 2012 Northern Trust Open, they are thrilled with the way their field has taken shape; and defending champion Aaron Baddeley will have a tall task in his attempt to repeat, as the field features many of the biggest names in golf.
